Job Summary
Organize building materials and prepare product orders for distribution using a variety of material handling equipment including counter-balance forklifts and lift trucks. Read work orders and yard pick tickets to calculate units of measure for shipping, while utilizing warehouse management systems to verify stock availability. Load and unload train rail cars, maintain order accuracy in both warehouse and yard areas, and make decisions within clear guidelines. Follow daily operations schedules with attention to safety and order accuracy, adjusting to customer needs as required. This role supports Weekes Forest Products, a leading distributor of specialty building materials and engineered wood components, where you will receive an ownership stake in the company's value.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years experience
- Patient work style interested in consistency dealing with repetitive routines
- Follow safety expectations set by company safety policies
- Able to lift 20-60 pounds throughout the work day
- Ability to work independently while supporting exceptional teamwork of a larger work group
- Flexibility to work overtime hours as needed
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as a counter-balance forklift
- Ability to solve problems, persevere when challenged by excessing workload demands, outside working conditions, and working independently
