Job Summary
Operate stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload trucks and incoming freight. Move, stock, and organize inventory in bulk storage areas and flow racks while following warehouse management system instructions using radio frequency technology. Verify inventory counts, maintain accuracy, and assist with audits and cycle counts as needed. Inspect shipments and break down inventory while adhering to OSHA standards and workplace safety policies. Complete company forklift certification within the first 90 days of employment. Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet operational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to learn warehouse management terminology, RF scanning functions, and shipping procedures
- Ability to learn OSHA standards and safe workplace practices
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and inventory information accurately
- Basic computer skills required for operating warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance record
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 70 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or walk approximately 40% of the workday
- Ability to lift and stock products approximately 30% of the workday
- Ability to push, pull, reach, and stoop approximately 25% of the workday
- Ability to climb approximately 5% of the workday
- Sufficient visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate forklifts and identify products in storage locations
- Must successfully complete company forklift certification within the first 90 days of employment
- Must be able to demonstrate safe operation of industrial powered trucks and maintain certification requirements
- Must maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality
- Must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Must work well independently and as part of a team
