Job Summary
CHEP is hiring an experienced FLT Driver / General Operative at the Asda Import Centre in Middlesbrough to operate forklifts safely in support of production and haulage operations, direct visiting vehicles during loading/unloading, and sort pallets to specific standards. The role involves maintaining smooth production flow, handling stock rotations, and reporting equipment issues. Requires external FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) and a minimum of 2 years’ counterbalance forklift experience; RTITB/ITSSAR training and Reach forklift qualification are desirable. The position is tied to CHEP’s Hybrid Work Model and offers a full-time, permanent role with benefits and opportunities for growth.
Required Qualifications
- External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) – up to 5 tons (B1) or equivalent
- Reach Forklift Qualification (desirable)
- RTITB trained (desirable)
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse yard (or similar)
- Minimum 2 years’ counterbalance forklift operation experience
- Strong communication skills with hauliers
