Job Summary
Operate forklifts, jack lifts, and high lifts to move product throughout the facility while adhering to safety protocols and oral/written instructions. Perform essential production tasks supporting a safe and efficient line, including standing on concrete or platforms for up to 12-hour shifts and working in cold, warm, wet, and noisy environments. Handle repetitive movements, sanitation chemicals, and strong odors while wearing required PPE such as hard hats and steel-toed shoes. This role requires specific equipment certifications during the qualification period and may involve overtime based on production demands.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Must be willing and able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be willing and able to perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
- Must be willing and able to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Must be willing and able to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
- Must be willing and able to work with a box cutter
- Must be willing and able to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
- Must be willing and able to work in an environment that is wet and humid
- Must be willing and able to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Must be willing and able to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be willing and able to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
- Must be willing and able to work around strong smells/odors
- Must be willing and able to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
- Must be willing and able to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
- Must be willing and able to walk long distances
- Must be willing and able to meet certification in order to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position
- Must be willing and able to perform some or all body parts and muscle groups
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
