Job Summary
Pick orders efficiently using first-in-first-out methods while accurately verifying cases against Bills of Lading. Safely operate a fork truck in a potentially hazardous environment featuring wet, sloped floors and heavy pedestrian traffic. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle, maintain the scanning system, and complete all required paperwork. Adhere strictly to Safety, SQF, GMP, and housekeeping regulations to ship product free of contamination. Report any suspicious activities, leaking products, or contamination issues immediately to management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to frequently stand and walk
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to occasionally climb/balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
