Job Summary
Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks within specified timelines while noting shipment exceptions to minimize cargo claims. Manage paperwork including delivery receipts, bills of lading, and hazardous material accuracy, and regroup shipments as needed. Maintain company reliability standards and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and dispatch. Requires a high school diploma, basic arithmetic skills, and ability to use tools like dock plates and load locks. Must be at least 18 years old with availability for Monday through Friday shifts from noon to 6 pm. Previous warehouse or LTL experience is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Simple arithmetic, weight and/or measuring
- The ability to communicate in a positive, effective manner with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/ managers
- Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal)
Desired Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent
- Previous warehouse or like experience
- Forklift experience
- Experience using tools, machines, and special equipment: hand truck, four-wheel dock cart, pallet jack, barrel truck, dock plates, load locks and/or rope
- Experience in an LTL operation
