Forestry Technician Supervisor

Job Summary
Ensure accurate completion of administrative duties including payroll tracking, production tracking, equipment inspection, and safety document management. Plan daily and weekly production and logistics for your team before work begins, then inspect team performance using sample plots. Motivate staff to perform to their fullest potential while communicating with clients to maintain strong working relationships. Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee contract safety, production, and quality, and assist in keeping projects within budget. Oversee completion of daily field tasks and train new staff to safely operate equipment in physically strenuous terrains. Work 10 days on with 4 days off, earning $310–$338 per day.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Forestry-related experience
- Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry or a related field
- A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent
- a current Driver's Abstract
- Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions
- Prior supervisory experience ensuring production targets are met while meeting financial targets
- Previous experience in compliance and implementation of safety standards
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field
- The ability to work away from home for scheduled periods of time
- Pre-employment drug testing required for safety sensitive positions
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in natural resources, forestry or a related field is an asset
- Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions is an asset
- Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent
- Experience working with chainsaws would be considered an asset
- A love of the outdoors
