Job Summary
Administer forestry referrals from government ministries, agencies, and stakeholders, including cutting permit applications and cultural heritage reviews. Draft responses to assigned referrals, file correspondence, and locate materials for authorized users. Manage field staff scheduling, safety compliance, and fleet maintenance while drafting weekly reports and site forms. Coordinate with external organizations, attend technical working groups, and facilitate training for technicians. Assist the Title and Rights Manager on resource developments and draft briefing notes for leadership. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding LNIB interests and protect natural resources within the Traditional Territory.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation (Mandatory)
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Geography, or a similar program of study
- Knowledge and experience of similar program delivery in the context of First Nations culture and history
- Familiarity with Provincial forest regulatory environment
- Familiarity with constitutional consultation framework
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent knowledge and experience with computers
- Strong research skills, including the ability to read and interpret maps
- Ability to work outside in variable conditions
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of LNIB's history, culture, and membership
Desired Qualifications
- Preference will be given to a candidate with a professional designation (RPF/RFT) or eligibility for designation
- Experience managing field crews an asset
