Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive forest management by overseeing planning, permitting, timber harvest, road construction, silviculture, client reporting, and budgeting. Design and secure permits for harvest unit layouts, administer harvest contracts, and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage road construction and maintenance projects while utilizing GIS for property management and collaborating on budget development. Operate within Sustainable Forestry Initiative objectives, support the District Manager with access agreements and client tours, and fulfill additional assignments. This role balances office work with remote field assignments involving solo ventures into unimproved roads and adverse weather. Salary ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 with a company vehicle, bonuses, and full benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field OR Associate's Degree in Forestry
- 3-5 years of applicable experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient team player with adaptability
- Capability to work in challenging field conditions
- Valid Driver's License with safe vehicle operation skills
- Travel in Washington
- out-of-town and overnight stays
