Job Summary
Assist in caring for children ages 5-12 in School Age programs at YMCA locations, maintaining a 1:18 supervision ratio and promoting health, safety, welfare, and personal growth. Adhere to the Kenosha YMCA’s zero-tolerance policy for youth abuse, follow child abuse prevention policies, mandates for reporting, and cooperate with law enforcement. Possess CPR and First Aid certification, meet Wisconsin licensing qualifications for Assistant Teacher, and collaborate with youth, parents, staff and community organizations. Demonstrate joy in working with children, ability to work with general supervision, and pass required background checks.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet Wisconsin state licensing qualification as Assistant Teacher as minimum certification
- Ability to provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience working with children
- Willingness to learn state licensing childcare regulations and procedures for group day care centers
- Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law
Additional Requirements
- Must be 18 years old but can be 16 with DPI course
