Job Summary
The Foreperson (Production) leads daily greenhouse operations under the Department Head, directly supervising crews (typically 10–25 as task/season dictates) and ensuring tasks such as crop movement, bed preparation, irrigation setup, and general greenhouse maintenance are carried out safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, training staff, monitoring productivity, coordinating with the Department Head on daily plans, maintaining equipment and safety practices, tracking production metrics, and ensuring accurate timekeeping for payroll. This role requires hands-on leadership, communication across teams, and a focus on process improvements and meeting production goals.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial greenhouse experience, including supervision
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills; ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication; cross-team collaboration
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Valid driver’s license with insurability standards
