Job Summary
Foreperson (Production) leads and executes daily greenhouse operations, supervises 10–25 crew members, trains staff, coordinates crop movement, bed preparation, irrigation setup, and general greenhouse maintenance, and communicates with the Department Head to meet production goals while ensuring safety and efficiency. Strong emphasis on supervision, labor coordination, safety, equipment operation, and collaboration across teams; requires hands-on leadership and ability to monitor productivity and implement process improvements. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and willingness to coordinate labor and payroll processes; on-site role based in Cottage Grove, MN.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial greenhouse experience, including supervision
- supervisory experience leading greenhouse crews (typically 10–25 employees)
- ability to train employees on procedures, equipment use, and safety practices
- experience with crop movement, bed preparation, irrigation setup, and general greenhouse maintenance
- familiarity with equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, man lifts, and small tractors
- ability to monitor workflow, monitor productivity and safety, and communicate with leadership
- proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- valid driver’s license and insurability per company standards
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on-site in varied environmental conditions
- bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
