Job Summary
Forensic Technologist in the Toxicology group performing extractions and data pulling from GC/MS and LC/MS/MS, Headspace GC, and ensuring quality control and performance standards. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring sample IDs and preparation correctness, preserving chain of custody, preparing for regular accreditation inspections, providing testimony if required, conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses, maintaining supplies and validated standards, entering results into company databases, calibrating instruments, basic equipment maintenance, and supporting QA protocols. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years of relevant experience, ability to work unsupervised, capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced lab setting, troubleshooting capabilities, proficiency with MS Office, strong interpersonal and self-management skills, and the ability to work rotational shifts in an onsite laboratory in London, Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields
- 2 years of relevant experience required
- Experience working in Toxicology considered an asset
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to perform under pressure, multi-task while ensuring the integrity of the test results in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Proficiency in MS-Office Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to succeed in a collaborative working environment
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritize in a results-driven environment
