Job Summary
Manage structural forensic engineering assignments, perform assessments, and develop reports outlining site observations, applicable codes, findings, and conclusions for insurance carriers, attorneys, and property managers. Conduct on-site interviews to collect histories and data, photograph conditions to determine causes of loss, and communicate with clients to clarify scopes and explain observations. Review codes, standards, and construction practices to formulate defensible conclusions, while maintaining project data management and storage. Testify in legal proceedings when required and supervise junior engineers in field work and report development. Requires constant travel within 150 miles of the Dallas office and occasional regional travel.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architecture Engineering
- Knowledge of building codes and standards and construction practices
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date
- constant travel within 150 miles of your office location
- occasional travel for work with other NV5 office locations/staff or geographic regions
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Residential and/or Commercial inspection & assessment experience
- Litigation experience
