Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of emergency department patients using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and collaboration while prioritizing patient needs, managing resources, and coordinating delivery of care. Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, provide accurate documentation, and collaborate with physicians, family, and support staff to develop individualized care plans. Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise plans as necessary. Requires a current RN license with at least one year of Emergency Department experience, BLS certification, and a BSN degree. Night shift, 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- One year of licensed RN experience in an Emergency Department
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- BSN Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Previous forensics nursing/SANE experience
