Job Summary
Investigate fraud cases end-to-end across credit application fraud, insurance claims fraud, internal fraud and criminal syndicate activity; gather and assess evidence, then present findings clearly for disciplinary hearings and criminal proceedings; identify gaps in controls and recommend practical fixes; brief stakeholders on findings; collaborate across legal, compliance and operations to support the full investigation process; conduct risk assessments and fraud training; requires 3-5 years' forensic investigation or auditing experience, strong knowledge of investigation methods and criminal law, banking/insurance fraud exposure is a plus; Grade 12 minimum with a preferred qualification in Law or Finance; strong written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills, high attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions under pressure; computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook; valid driver’s license and own vehicle; availability after hours for emergencies; Capitec values diversity and will consider applications in support of employment equity goals.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 (minimum)
- a relevant qualification in Law or Finance is preferred
- 3-5 years' experience as a forensic investigator or auditor
- solid knowledge of investigation methods and criminal law
- knowledge of fraud in banking or insurance is a plus
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- confident presenting and reporting findings
- good negotiation and interpersonal skills
- high attention to detail and sound decision-making under pressure
- computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- availability after hours in the event of an emergency
- clear criminal and credit record
