Job Summary
Provide forensic consulting services requiring Civil Engineering expertise for insurance, legal, industrial, and other clients. Assess and determine the cause/origin of structural failures and/or damage, building envelope failures, and construction defects; prepare oral and written reports and provide expert testimony when needed. Manage multiple projects, coordinate with other experts, perform field investigations at various properties, document site conditions, oversee field testing, review drawings/contracts, and develop scopes of work and budgets. Strong communication skills, client interaction, and ability to deliver timely client reports are essential. Travel up to 50% with office/field-site work in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Civil Engineering degree or higher
- P.E. required in the state of employment or ability to obtain quickly
- 2-10+ years of experience
- Project Management and/or Field Investigation preferred
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills
- Must have high level of analytical skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with clients at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-aided engineering/design software
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports and legal documents
- Ability to write scopes-of-work, budgets, schedules, reports of findings, proposals, general correspondence, and other technical documents
- Ability to present information to management and clients
- Travel up to 50% local/regional
