Foreman/Superintendent (Utilities)

Job Summary
Manage daily site activities by ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. Directly manage lead personnel and staff, conducting daily communications regarding workforce and equipment needs while scheduling and monitoring subcontractors. Maintain safe working environments through hazard identification, corrective actions, and daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings. Complete daily record keeping including logs, equipment schedules, and time cards, while inspecting field work for quality compliance. Participate in pre-construction and regular job site meetings, and respond to inquiries from customers or regulatory agencies. Requires 8 to 10-hour work days, occasional weekends, and valid driver's license. Union-based role with prevailing wage benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Two to five years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legal documents
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, iPad and iPhone
- Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately
- Good communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management and employees, external vendors and other business associates
- Ability to clearly communicate directions and information
- Ability to speak effectively before groups as well as individuals
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical field quantity situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be over the age of 18
- Union affiliation or willingness to join the union
- Must possess valid driver's license and ability to maintain satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
- Position requires 8 to 10-hour work days and occasional weekends, as needed
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites
- Must be able to work in variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat
- Must be able to work in variable terrain
