Job Summary
Read blueprints and specifications to determine material scope, then identify necessary tools and safety risks before preparing, fabricating, and installing pipe, valves, and supports according to plans. Perform quality tests on piping systems and hoist loads using rigging equipment while overseeing helper and labor positions. Work independently with minimal supervision, adhering to Zachry values and safety regulations in an industrial construction environment. This role requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50lbs, with occasional work at heights up to 300 feet and long shifts up to 12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter
- Ability to read prints
- Thorough knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Experience on an industrial construction project
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience
- Ability to read prints and construction drawings
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions
- Demonstrate knowledge on the pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for a combined-cycle power plant
- Must have 4+ years' experience with the pipe fitting processes
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Good aptitude and manual dexterity
- Good reading comprehension
- Ability to work with others – team player
- Ability to work independently – minimal supervision
- Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
- Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind
- Must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots
- Must be able to work at heights up to 300' utilizing proper fall protection
