Foreman - Overhead (DUKE)

Job Summary

Lead a crew to construct and repair electrical overhead distribution systems, including installing poles, insulators, and conductors while performing live-line work with energized lines. Conduct pre-job and tailgate safety briefings, train lower classification employees, and oversee project quality and deadlines. Operate bucket trucks and other overhead line equipment while working at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions including storms. Maintain full responsibility for job site safety and completion. Available for outages, emergencies, and on-call rotation with travel to out-of-state locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of recent overhead line experience
  • Proficient in basic computer operations including Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Willing to travel long distances on short notice
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
  • Must be experienced with coaching and training lower classification employees in safe and productive work procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized and de-energized lines while using the proper tools and test equipment
  • Climb different structures (wood, steel, concrete) using approved climbing methods and equipment
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in proximity to energized equipment
  • Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers and other pieces of overhead line equipment
  • Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation
  • Perform live‐line work using approved gloving and hot‐stick techniques of energized lines, including troubleshooting and fault locating
  • Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and possess a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
