Job Summary
Foreman for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) leading semi-skilled and skilled trades in a shipbuilding environment. Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates staff; trains employees to implement plans, ensure compliance with drawings and procedures, and oversee manufacturing, installation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact. Role includes recommending training to improve skill and productivity, breaking down broad strategies into actionable plans, and supervising budget/performance across shifts. Job includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new Foreman hires and requires a combination of degree or certification options (Bachelor's Degree, Apprentice Certification, High School with 4 years of manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience, or Associate Degree in a trade with 3 years of related experience). No relocation assistance and no telework; travel not required. US Citizenship may be required for certain positions. Candidates will be evaluated for fit within Newport News Shipbuilding, a Huntington Ingalls Industries division, and must meet requirements across manufacturing, quality and NDT leadership disciplines.
