Job Summary
Lead site safety and supervise workers on water and sewer projects, implementing excavating and backfilling execution plans while conducting pre-operational checks on heavy equipment. Coordinate with superintendents and subcontractors to execute safety plans, lead weekly safety and toolbox meetings, and manage incident investigations. Operate two-way radios, perform minor equipment repairs, and fine grade, slope, bank, backfill, ditch, and excavate. Ensure quality document sign-offs, receive permits for live operating plants, and interpret grade stakes by coordinating survey crews. Requires 5 years of equipment experience, 2 years in supervision, underground utilities expertise, and CSTS/SCOT certifications. 44-hour week with overtime during busy seasons; evenings and weekends required.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment
- A heavy equipment operator certificate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Underground utilities/Water & Sewer experience
- Valid driver's license
- CSTS 2020 or SCOT and WHMIS 2015
- Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE Proficiency level certified)
- Must provide an insurable Driver's Abstract
- Completion of high school or equivalent
- Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

- You have experience in road construction, civil, earthworks and/or water and sewer
