Job Summary
Lead and supervise civil construction crews on-site in Ponoka/Edmonton, coordinating with superintendents, project managers, and sub-contractors to enforce safety plans, oversee excavating and backfilling execution, conduct and participate in toolbox and safety meetings, investigate incidents, ensure quality documentation, and manage equipment operation and maintenance. Responsibilities include on-site safety leadership, coordinating survey crews, signing permits for work inside live plants, ensuring compliance with CSTS/WHMIS, and maintaining effective communication with teams using radios; requires 5+ years heavy-equipment operation experience, supervisory background, a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience operating equipment
- A heavy equipment operator certificate
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a civil construction supervisory role or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license with an insurable driver’s abstract
- CSTS 2020 or SCOT and WHMIS 2015 required
- Proficient English language skills required
- Education: Completion of high school or equivalent
