Job Summary
Direct and supervise the planning, layout, and installation of forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts for concrete structures in accordance with plans, specifications, and industry standards. Lead and coordinate efforts of lead men and craft workers, motivating them to accomplish work safely, correctly, and efficiently. Conduct toolbox meetings, perform daily pre-job safety planning, and enforce zero-injury goals by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions. Manage scheduling, material control, and unit man-hour performance reporting using the Field Progress Management System. Review crew timecards, inspect subordinate work for compliance, and complete performance reviews based on Craft Performance Assessment Guidelines. Ensure all equipment is correctly operated, maintained, and inspected daily. Full-time role with up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperature extremes.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Journeyman
- Experience working as a Carpenter
- Experience working as a Concrete Finisher
- Experience working as a Rod buster
- Experience working as a similar craft
- A strong working knowledge of the civil / concrete crafts
- Experience in erection of all types of concrete structures
- Working knowledge of auto-level
- Working knowledge of transit
- Ability to accurately lay-out and verify of finished grades
- Knowledge of fabrication and erection of forms
- Thorough knowledge of steel framed forms
- Knowledge of Symons forms
- Knowledge of fabrication and placement of rebar
- Knowledge of proper tying techniques
- Knowledge of placing, finishing and sealing concrete
- Ability to set standards of excellence in leadership
- Ability to set standards of excellence in safety
- Ability to set standards of excellence in quality
- Ability to set standards of excellence in productivity
- Possession of all necessary tools (see Industrial Carpenter tool list)
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements
- Ability to pass criminal/civil background check
- Ability to pass drug screen
- Ability to pass motor vehicle records search
