Foreign Trade Zone Supervisor

Job Summary

Supervise day-to-day Foreign Trade Zone operations and staff, utilizing dashboards and reports to ensure timeliness of file logging, entry/admission/withdrawal filing, and billing. Maintain team compliance with local Customs laws, Partner Government Agencies, client Process Standards, and Expeditors policies while managing productivity dashboards and conference calls. Perform entry/admission/withdrawal audits, implement corrective actions, and create or update Standard Operating Procedures for new and existing clients. Review rate schedules, resolve accounting discrepancies, and monitor overtime to eliminate waste and maintain profitability. Train, motivate, and mentor team members through routine meetings and annual reviews, ensuring cross-training and high morale. This role requires at least three years of Customs/FTZ brokerage experience, fluency in English and Spanish, and the ability to work overtime or weekends in support of department needs.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of Customs/FTZ Brokerage Experience with Expeditors' Internal System
  • At least 1-2 years of lead/supervisory experience
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the HTSUS
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Well-rounded knowledge of the Foreign-Trade Zones Manual
  • Knowledge and experience with Participating Government Agencies
  • Must be able to commute to the Pullman/El Paso Facility
  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends in support of the department needs
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
  • Familiarity with 10-key usage
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
  • Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action
  • Strong organizational Skills
  • Analytical with a strong attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability
  • Comfortable working in a professional business environment
  • Proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies
  • Customs Brokerage License or Actively pursuing and taking the exam

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Expeditors Internal System Preferred
  • Undergraduate Degree Preferred
