Foreclosure Specialist III

Foreclosure Specialist III responsible for monitoring and overseeing the foreclosure process for loans assigned to team members to ensure foreclosures remain on track with investor guidelines. Provides subject matter expertise to the team, handles escalated issues, and manages a portfolio of loans involved in complex litigation to protect M&T’s interest in subject mortgaged property. Performs high-risk administrative functions related to the foreclosure process. Primary responsibilities include monitoring foreclosure progress through queues and reporting, ensuring team adherence to state/federal/investor guidelines, collaborating with foreclosure attorneys and counsel to resolve disputes, meeting FHA 1st legal deadlines, researching and updating loans on foreclosure exception reports, approving additional attorney fees beyond associate limits, tracking legal expenses, QC reviewing investor bidding instructions, conducting regular side-by-sides with the team, reviewing assigned loans at least every 30 days, ensuring regulatory/compliance adherence, updating procedures, gathering information for investor/regulatory/internal meetings, and maintaining internal controls and audit responsiveness. Strong emphasis on analysis, reporting, process improvement, and collaboration with management and external partners to support compliant, timely foreclosures while maintaining M&T Bank’s standards and values.
