Forecasting Accountant

Job Summary

Prepare financial forecasts for tax credit subsidized transactions by extracting data from client documents such as letters of intent and audited financial statements. Consult with clients to optimize tax credit equity investments by evaluating ownership structures, subsidies, and financing options. Document assumptions used in forecasts, prepare summarized reports, and communicate potential problem areas during engagements. Assist with accounting, audit, and tax engagements regarding year-end audits, tax returns, and cost certifications. Participate in conference calls to discuss structuring investments for federal opportunity zones and renewable energy tax credits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance or economics
  • 2+ years of appropriate experience
  • Ability to sit for the CPA exam or passed sections of the CPA exam
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately and in a time-efficient manner with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to coordinate complex activities and prioritize conflicting demands and deadlines
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and make adjustments as directed
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment
  • Strong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel) and report writing tools
  • Ability to learn new programs quickly
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with coworkers and clients
  • Ability to adhere to internal Firm deadlines (time entry)
  • Ability to contribute ideas and add value to designated team
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting/taxation, real estate and lending terminology and other related concepts
  • Ability to sit for the CPA exam or having passed sections of the CPA exam
  • Available to work evenings and weekends based on position needs
  • Ability to travel domestically if required
