Job Summary
Develop and operationalize forecasting methodologies that increase accuracy and scalability across planning processes, building statistical baselines using historical demand, seasonality, and key business drivers. Partner with Data, Systems, and Supply Chain teams to integrate demand signals from shipments, POS, and inventory, while reducing manual work through automation and better tooling. Build scenario models and dashboards that translate complex analytical findings into clear business narratives for decision-ready insights. Evaluate forecast performance using error diagnostics and bias analysis to drive continuous improvement in planning workflows and model governance.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in forecasting, demand planning, analytics, data science, operations research, or a closely related field
- Strong experience building and applying statistical forecasting methods in a business environment
- Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python, R, or a similar analytical programming language used for modeling and forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, messy data sets and improve data quality, data structure, and analytical reliability
- Experience developing forecasting models, evaluating model performance, and using diagnostics to improve outcomes over time
- Strong understanding of planning and operational processes, ideally in consumer products, hardware, retail, or supply chain environments
- Ability to translate analytical work into clear business recommendations that influence planning decisions and cross-functional action
- Experience partnering effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across functions
- Strong ownership mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and priorities
- Currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning approaches for time-series forecasting or demand sensing in production or near-production settings
- Familiarity with planning platforms, BI tools, and modern data environments used in operational planning
- Background in consumer electronics, wearables, premium hardware, or subscription-adjacent businesses
- Experience helping design or scale forecasting processes in a high-growth company
- Experience with causal modeling, experimentation, or advanced scenario planning techniques
