Job Summary
Armed civilian Force Protection Officer responsible for securing military aircraft, hangars and other restricted areas; controls entry of military and civilian personnel, contractors, VIPs and visitors to the Base, flight line, and other restricted areas; provides limited military law enforcement services and may work in a military 911 dispatch center; may work night and weekend shifts; must be able to operate around moving aircraft, wear heavy equipment, and carry firearms; requires valid state driver’s license, military driver’s license and SECRET security clearance during probation; CAC issued upon successful completion of probation; serves as a protection and security professional within the Vermont National Guard environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent AND EITHER one (1) or more years of experience in the security or law enforcement field
- OR Successful completion of a law enforcement, corrections, security, technical school or police academy program
- OR Current or past membership of a military organization, Active or Reserve/National Guard
- OR Successful completion of two (2) years full-time college coursework in a law enforcement/criminal justice/homeland security field.
