Job Summary
Conduct diabetic foot exams, toenail trims, callous debridement, and flu injections while triaging patients and coordinating appointments. Administer patient teaching, document clinical findings in the EMR, and manage insurance authorizations for DME prescriptions. Transport patients safely, maintain sterile equipment, and ensure strict adherence to universal precautions and infection control protocols. Rotate across all Gonzaba Medical Group locations as needed to support the coordinated care model.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate of completion from an accredited school for Medical Assistants
- CPR certification with AED
- National certification as a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NRCMA)
- Current valid Texas Driver License
- Proof of current insurance
- Minimum high school education or equivalent
- Manual dexterity
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems
- Knowledge of Word processing software
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of Internet
- Knowledge of database software
- Must be able to travel to support patient care at all GMG locations on a rotational basis
- Must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a clinic, doctor's office, or hospital with a minimum of one-year experience
