Foot Care Nurse

Job Summary
Conduct foot care assessments and re-assessments for residents per College standards, developing individualized treatment and management plans. Maintain documentation of progress notes and resident treatment lists in the facility's health record system while adhering to approved cleaning and sterilization techniques for all instrumentation. Follow infection control best practices and guidelines set by regulatory bodies including the College of Nurses of Ontario and Health Canada. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to suggest applicable treatments and ensure interventions follow best practices. Provide specialized nursing procedures based on client needs and assessment results.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse providing nursing foot care services in good standing with his/her respective regulatory body –CNO
- basic and/or advanced care certification
- Professional License Insurance
- own tools/cleaning supplies
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills while interacting with residents or their families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a Long Term Care home
- A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector
- TB Immunization Record
