Job Summary
Prepare and serve nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient cafeteria while maintaining accurate paperwork. Assist in meal preparation, menu setup, and stocking serving lines with napkins, utensils, and condiments. Check food shipments, verify invoices, and determine daily food quantities. Serve students using appropriate portion sizes and promote a positive atmosphere. Perform rotating duties in the kitchen and at the register, including cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping between lunch periods. Complete administrative tasks such as inputting sales, posting deposits, backing up computers, and managing student records on the Point of Sale. Communicate with parents regarding account status and assist with inventory ordering. Work indoors standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds, and pass a state-required background check and fingerprinting.

- Must be able to pass the state-required background check and fingerprinting to work in NJ schools
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to twist, bend, and move freely
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to interact successfully with customers and Nutri-Serve employees
- Ability to maintain a caring attitude towards children
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in food service
