Job Summary
Prepares and serves nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient cafeteria while maintaining accurate paperwork. Assists in meal preparation, menu setup, and arranging serving utensils and trays. Checks food shipments, verifies invoices, and determines daily food quantities. Serves students using appropriate portion sizes and promotes a positive atmosphere through customer service. Completes general housekeeping, cleans serving lines, and sanitizes working areas. Manages cash by counting deposits, wrapping money, and dropping bags at the bank. Maintains student records, inputs sales, and completes daily reports. Assists in inventorying, ordering, and communicating with parents regarding account status. Works on a rotating basis in the kitchen and at the register.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a TEAM player
- Must be able to pass the state-required background check and fingerprinting to work in NJ schools
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to twist, bend, and move freely
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to interact successfully with customers and Nutri-Serve employees
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in food service
- Knowledge of food preparation
