Job Summary
Supervise a staff of up to 40 hourly employees to ensure security, safety, food specs, and compliance with HACCP, FDA, and airline regulations. Control food and labor costs, manage daily manpower planning, and balance work flow across shifts. Prepare management reports on attendance, HACCP, and labor; conduct inventory of products and customer materials; and maintain daily temperature logs. Train and coach employees on proper procedures, address performance issues with corrective actions, and ensure all required training, including ServSafe, is completed. Review union wage scales and seniority, verify correct cost centers and job titles, and liaise with HR and maintenance staff for equipment upkeep.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years supervisory experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, and restaurant or catering environment
- Current or previous labor relations experience
- Strong and effective leadership skills
- Ability to successfully manage a staff of 30+ hourly employees
- Ability to train others
- Ability to give negative and positive feedback to employees on a daily basis
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to be innovative and make changes to the operation as needed
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish/Chinese Mandarin/Vietnamese/Hindi/Polish
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Current or previous labor relations experience is a plus
