Job Summary
Open and close café operations by stocking, replenishing, and organizing service areas at Mona Campbell Square Café. Serve coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, and beverages while operating the cash register to process cash, debit, and credit transactions. Maintain transaction records, reconcile cash, and assist with preparing deposits. Provide friendly customer service, answer questions, and support guests throughout the day. Keep the café clean and sanitary by following food safety and sanitation best practices. Monitor supplies to ensure service areas remain stocked during busy periods and follow health & safety procedures. Balance multiple tasks including customer service, restocking, cleaning, and cashier responsibilities while jumping in wherever needed to support the Food Services Department.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing excellent customer service
- Confidence in handling cash and payment transactions accurately and efficiently
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and thrive in a fast-paced school and café environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and professional approach
- Comfortable interacting with school-aged children, students, staff, and guests
- Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve in a busy environment
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the team
- Successful candidates must supply Canada's National Ballet School with a Police Reference Check in accordance with the School's Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience operating cash registers and point of sale systems preferred
- Food Handler Certificate and Smart Serve Certification are considered assets
