Job Summary
Prepare and serve food items to students and school personnel while maintaining facilities and equipment in a safe, sanitary condition. Arrange beverage items and set up equipment efficiently. Clean utensils, equipment, and storage areas. Evaluate and inspect food items for quantity, quality, and compliance with health standards. Inventory supplies to ensure availability for projected menu requirements. Monitor kitchen and cafeteria areas for safety. Perform functions of other nutritional services positions as requested by the supervisor. Attend unit meetings and training workshops. This role supports food service activities at Chisholm Trail Middle School.
Required Qualifications
- Background Clearance
- TB Test/Physical
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years working in the food service industry
- Experience working in a school district
- Understanding of food and facility safety and sanitation practices
- Experience operating equipment found in a commercial kitchen
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math and understand multi-step written and oral instructions
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and utilizing data
- Ability to problem solve with data and equipment
- Ability to work under direct supervision in a fast-paced work environment with constant interruptions
- Highly collaborative team player
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
