Job Summary
Food Services Assistant performs duties in the kitchen, patient tray line, and retail areas, including tray assembly for patients, simple food preparation, serving customers, and setting up/replenishing stations. It also transports food carts to patient care units and conference rooms, conducts dishwashing, and ensures sanitation and compliance with department policies. The role requires communicating hazards and following local food-safety regulations and Serve Safe guidelines as part of a patient-focused service team.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool equivalency, etc.)
- Food Handlers Permit - Various Issuers
- Accredited food handler training course approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services (TXDSHS) or by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- Sufficient proficiency in English to perform essential functions
