Job Summary
Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts in a correctional facility kitchen. Prepare, assist, or instruct staff in cooking quality foods according to assigned menus, recipes, and work instructions while utilizing kitchen equipment to meet nutritional needs. Ensure all food is stored and served in a sanitary manner by following food safety regulations, maintaining clean work areas, and performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing. Train other food service workers and promote a healthy environment for employees and inmates. This role requires standing for extended periods and includes physical demands like lifting and bending. Available 1pm–9pm on weekdays and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Open availability to weekdays and weekends
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Must be able to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
