Job Summary
Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts in a correctional facility kitchen. Prepare, instruct, and assist inmates in cooking quality foods according to assigned menus, recipes, and work instructions while utilizing various kitchen utensils and equipment. Ensure all food is stored properly in a sanitary manner and serve meals during planned schedules in compliance with department policies. Maintain a clean work environment by cleaning refrigerators, cooking equipment, serving areas, and kitchen floors, while following all food safety regulations. Train other food service workers and promote a healthy, safe environment for employees and inmates. This role requires working an overnight shift from 12am to 8:30am.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to work an overnight shift of 12am-8:30am
- Must be able to work in close contact with and interacting with inmates
- Must follow facility uniform policy
- Must maintain a drug-free workplace status
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
