Job Summary
Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts in a correctional facility kitchen. Prepare, assist, or instruct staff in cooking and serving meals according to assigned menus, recipes, and work instructions while utilizing various kitchen equipment. Ensure all food is stored properly in a sanitary manner and follow strict food safety regulations for sanitation and handling. Serve food during planned meal schedules, maintain clean work areas by cleaning refrigerators, cooking equipment, and floors, and perform duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing. Train other food service workers and promote a healthy, safe environment for employees and inmates. This role requires standing for extended periods and includes physical demands like lifting and bending.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred
