Job Summary
Prepare and serve a variety of food items according to assigned menus, recipes, and work instructions within a correctional facility. Clean as you go, maintain a food-safe workstation, and perform general duties such as pulling trash, sweeping, and mopping. Utilize kitchen equipment to cook and serve menued portions while adhering to all food safety regulations regarding sanitation and storage. Keep kitchen floors clean from excess food and trash, and maintain a clean environment including refrigerators, freezers, and serving equipment. Function in a fast-paced setting by multi-tasking and adapting quickly to changes. This role involves physical demands including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
