Job Summary
Food Service Worker needed to prepare and serve meals to students in K-12 schools across the Charleston, SC area, process meal transactions at the POS, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following USDA guidelines. Responsibilities include serving meals, handling cash transactions, operating the POS system, maintaining sanitary work areas and kitchen equipment, enforcing food safety regulations, adhering to work schedules, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Nutrition Services Manager or Assistant Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in food service, cafeteria operations, or a similar role preferred
- Ability to handle cash transactions and learn to use a POS system
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (Food Handler certification a plus)
- Customer service oriented with a positive attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Passion for serving in an educational environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform kitchen duties
- Selected candidates MUST provide proof of a negative TB test prior to starting work
