Job Summary
Food Service Worker supports Housing Services food programs by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness, and collaborating with staff and residents to provide nutritious daily meals. The role contributes to a welcoming, safe, and efficient kitchen that meets health standards and supports resident well-being. Requires experience in a commercial kitchen, knowledge of food safety/sanitation, ability to follow recipes, inventory management, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Six months related experience
- Certificate in related field
- Food Safe Certificate Level I
- Valid driver’s license
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Criminal Record Check
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office, email, and kitchen inventory systems
