Job Summary
Assemble patient meals by setting up stations, portioning entrees, starches, vegetables, and sauces, and monitoring temperatures. Wash dishes, run items through dish machines, and sort waste for composting while maintaining sanitation standards. Load and deliver meal carts to nursing units using the Vocera system, returning soiled carts to the dish room. Pick up dirty trays from floor kitchens and ensure proper portion control to prevent waste. Adhere to food safety policies, hand washing procedures, and infection control protocols. Interact with patients in a positive, service-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
- Multnomah County Food Handler's Card within one (1) week of hire.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months customer service experience in a fast-paced hospital food service environment.
