Food Service Worker (Operations)

Job Summary
Portion and serve meals, assist with food production by washing produce, and prepare coffee, toast, and diet items according to nutritional plans. Strip wagons, wash dishes and pots, clean kitchen equipment and storage areas, and sweep floors. Deliver trays to patient units, retrieve food items, and replenish supplies. Perform related clerical duties, operate a cash register, and answer customer queries. Checks meals for dietary accuracy and ensures compliance with food safety protocols. Requires Grade 10 education, one year of experience, and a Food Safe Certificate Level 1. Internal applications are accepted late but reviewed after on-time candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Food Safe Certificate Level 1
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
