Job Summary
Conduct food service operations by portioning and serving meals, assisting with food production through washing, peeling, and preparing coffee, toast, and diet items. Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment and storage areas, sweep floors, and deliver trays to patient or resident units. Perform related clerical duties, operate cash registers, and answer customer queries while ensuring dietary accuracy and adhering to food safety protocols. Schedule and hours subject to change consistent with operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Food Safe Certificate Level 1
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
