Job Summary
Prepare food items using standardized recipes, portion, and serve meals while maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Operate equipment including ovens, steamers, dish machines, slicers, and mixers, and perform kitchen clean-up duties. Recognize properly prepared food by sight, taste, and smell, and maintain good public relations with students, parents, and faculty. Work days students are in school and as needed for meals, reporting to the Food Service Kitchen Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Must pass required background checks and physical
- Knowledge of food production techniques, preparation and serving practices
- Must be able to operate all food service equipment
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to withstand heat and fluctuations in temperature
- Must be able to work simultaneously with both hands
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
