Job Summary
Assemble prepared food on trays for general and therapeutic diets, maintaining the tray line in a clean, neat, and orderly manner. Deliver food trucks to patient floors and return them to the dish room at designated times, while tending and loading dish machines and transporting bulk supplies. Wash pots and pans by hand, deliver clean dishes to the kitchen unit, and sanitize work areas, walk-in storage, refrigerators, and equipment. Collect, process, and dispose of trash and garbage as directed. Shift runs 3:45 PM to 7:45 PM, part-time. Salary is $19.00 per hour plus $1.00 evening and weekend differential. Requires 6 months of food service experience and English proficiency. Located at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position
- Moderate physical effort lifting light to heavy objects and pushing carts
- Frequent prolonged standing/walking
- Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elements such as steam, electricity, sharp knives and cutting equipment
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months previous food service experience preferred
