Job Summary
Food Service Worker follows established dietary and retail cafe policies to support patients, staff and customers. Responsibilities include setting up work stations, preparing foods, portion control, maintaining food quality and presentation, cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, managing inventory and par levels, checking temperatures, delivering meals or late trays, assisting in catering or events, and handling cash transactions when applicable. Requires ability to learn and follow policies, read and understand instructions, communicate effectively, provide customer service, and obtain required food handling certifications. Night and evening shifts with a weekend differential, 40-hour work week in Phoenix, AZ, within Banner Health’s Culinary and Nutrition department. Magnet-recognized academic medical center context and emphasis on safety, sanitation, and patient-focused service.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess the ability to read and understand written and verbal instruction
- Ability to follow established policy and procedures
- Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required
- POS (cash register) when applicable
- Food handlers' card required with 30 days of hire for Banner Staffing Services team members (specific locations noted)
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain for duration of employment (where applicable)
- Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed at hire (where applicable)
