Job Summary
Prepare and organize food items efficiently for patients, serving meals according to diet specifications and menu requirements. Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas while stocking storerooms using the first-in, first-out principle. Operate dish machines and kitchen equipment safely, and manage the register by closing out and counting money. Work night shifts between 6:30am and 1:45pm or 4:30pm and 7:30pm, Monday through Friday, with weekend off. Maintain confidentiality and uphold Avera's core values of compassion and stewardship within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED Equivalent
- One to six months of food service experience
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
- Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
